Quick fediverse question: as a Mastodon user, how can I interact with content on a Lemmy instance? For example, if someone has posted over at lemmy.ml, how can I use my Mastodon.online account to post a reply to their post? Or is this even possible?

@expatteacher it's a bit of a complicated answer, honestly.
The way Fediverse works, is there's a number of different "content types".
Mastodon doesn't accept anything that's not a "note" as far as I'm aware. Unfortunately, Lemmy uses article types.
That leads to Lemmy original posts coming through as just a link.
But if you copy and paste the link to the Lemmy post in your mastodon instances search bar, the post with the link will come up and you can reply directly to that post from mastodon and if you mention the community name in your reply, aka @ fediverse@lemmy.world and it'll show up there. I spaced the username so this doesn't show up there.
You can also make a post to a Lemmy community by making a post with the first line as the title, 2 line breaks, then the body of the post, another 2 line breaks, and mention the community.
Hope this helps.
