@sam frustrating because they've not been forthcoming about the little nuances to their feature announcements like replies. They aren't just regular replies. I just wish they'd turn it on already.
A MUCH smaller company and even a singular person on their own project has enabled it more fluently and naturally than them already.

@BeAware I get that, there reasoning by them is due to how there corporation has to go through a board of directors for approval, there's probably something to do with how they are using Instagram's back-end to create Threads as well. Hopefully we get all of that soon as I really would love to fully interact with my friends and family that wouldn't want to move to Mastodon but would try Threads.

@sam @BeAware From my understanding, a large portion of it is legal. The fediverse spews a lot of data in a lot of directions very casually, and a lot of the individuals who run servers can be kinda fast and loose about that... but to someone like Facebook that could be a multibillion dollar liability.

They're making themselves look really untrustworthy.
