This sure is a Twitter-y-type-thing.

New users typically like to post an #introduction, littered with hashtags that are related to their interests so others with similar interests can find easily.

Also, Mastodon isn't the only platform here. There's MANY other softwares with their own uses and interfaces.

Some of those include:

PixelFed, an instagram-like interface.

Peertube, a YouTube-like interface.

Friendica, a facebook-like interface.

WordPress with ActivityPub plugin, full featured blog.

All-in-all, the Fediverse has most social media interfaces that you could want and you just have to decide which would be better for you.
