I feel like a lot of mods are significant to their games history and playability in those versions and when the author's don't update past a certain point, those mods are lost to time.
I've been really missing Industrial craft and BuildCraft in Minecraft in the past few years and they were SO vital to my enjoyment of those earlier Minecraft versions.

@BeAware industrialCraft is when my best memories of Minecraft were made and I was really sad when I decided to boot it up again after 12 years and found that those kids didn't really exist anymore

@hodgepodge_homonculus same, except for me, it was BuildCraft.
Now, to get that sort of experience, you have to use gregtech or something similar. If you're familiar with gregtech, you can guess I'm not really into the idea of spending an hour making a gear...
It's sad.
I even started downloading a pack with those old mods on an old version, but I want to experience the new Minecraft stuff so it's not really what I want.
