@FloatingGhost idk if it's "more cursed" to do it the old way but the added friction probably was a good thing. also there's a question of form and ergonomics, usually features like these just insert a post wholesale into your feed with maybe a lil preprend like "floaty boosted this" but what would be really nice is to have more context, like, i think people shouldn't be *forced* to add context but it would be a lot better if they did. in ui this would be a text field "why are you sharing this?"

@FloatingGhost it's funny bc i don't like quote tweets, but to be precise, the reason i don't like quote tweets is because i think in most cases they should be replies instead. also sometimes i would legit prefer people just link to something and it not be replaced with an embedded preview

@FloatingGhost basically there's something to be said for reifying emergent behavior but also maybe there's a better way to address the needs being demonstrated
