This is all about creating illusions that show different images depending on how you view or transform them.

It's also one of the few examples where I feel it really would make a lot of sense to use generative AI to last the groundwork for an actual artist. You could choose the two image targets and the transformation desired, use the generated image to solve the global layout problem for you (and filter down the results to those you like best), then make a new image with that layout. Notice: human creativity applies before, during, and after.
