Nostr's only benefit will be it's downfall. The inability to ban problematic users on that platform causes mass amounts of spam, hate speech, and just flat out gross behavior.

Now, Fediverse is getting punished for letting a bridge go on without being widely blocked. We've been getting spam galore.

I've even seen Nostr users trying to find out how to block them, cause they can't be banned on Nostr itself, only personally blocked and they keep making new accounts...‍️

From what I could gather the problem is that the bridge is opt-out instead of opt-in. I blocked momostr.pink the moment I saw what a colossal problem it was going to be

@iyashikei_kris everything on Fedi is opt out...you didn't opt in to read my post, it's just on your federated timeline because I have followers from your instance.

Opt out is the default here. Open by design, closed on request.

I ain't gonna say a damn thing bad about crypto because I'm +$4,500 in crypto. But obviously I'm not on that level of worship.

Theirs much worse issues there than some Bitcoin memes though. The hate speech, transphobia, and spam are the cause for concern.
