They sure do enjoy making themselves seem as sus as possible with this whole situation.
First, the make it opt-in only, which is not how any other implementation works besides BridgyFed, and it only works that way cause Fedi bullied Ryan into submission with misinformation regarding how Fedi works.
Nobody who doesn't know what Fedi is, will turn it on and that's why there's so few people federating from those platforms.
Then, they claimed to "turn replies on" allowing Fediverse people to "reply" to posts from there. Except they failed to mention that replies are private on Threads, you can only mention 1 user or it won't work, and it has to be a reply to a post that already exists on Threads.
Obviously that's not "replies", that's one way DMs....โ๏ธ
Getting more and more skeptical of Meta every day.

@BeAware Meta being Meta. This company wants to rule all ways of comunication.
(Sorry if I write something wrong. I'm using this account to improve my English) -

@rodias yep, looks good to me
Though, we're also on the way to Mastodon doing the same thing.
Mastodon controls 72% of all user experience here.
We're on the fast track to a few select companies having complete control of our experiences here.

@BeAware oh, crap. And now Mastodon has a former Twitter's director in the board, doesn't? If I'm correct, this explains a lot

@rodias To be honest, I'm not even sure about that. I haven't been keeping up with their business moves.

@apollon well, I just don't see a benefit in blanket blocking 200m+ people.
Most of the people there do not work for Meta and cannot change this situation.

@BeAware Well, I also donโt see the point in giving 200m+ people - a big chunk of them just spam bots - blanket access to marginalized communities that are undermined on metaโs platforms, either. Here is a piece by a trans woman (@nileane) on Threads moderation policies: https://www.macstories.net/stories/lgbt-and-marginalized-voices-are-not-welcome-on-threads/
Youโre free to join an instance that welcomes oppressors to be among them, but I donโt wish to do that for myself.

@apollon I'm on my own instance so my experience effects literally nobody but myself.
