Lately I've seen posts that say that Mastodon is waning, and arguably should be doing more to win people over from using Bluesky or Threads, which makes me wonder does it even matter? Sure I'd love #Mastodon to be the most popular platform, and for all my friends to be using it, but I'd argue the that it's not the role of the #Fediverse to be the dominant platform, and instead provide an alternative to #bigtech social media.

@okwithmydecay they're sure trying to take over Fedi, but doing a fine job at failing at that.

They refuse to add simple moderation features. A mod/admin has to have eyes on a post before it can be moderated and I hope you can see why thats an issue with millions of Fedi posts per day...

It makes no sense.

A bit of automated reporting would be nice.

Also, they kept saying they were adding quote posts and limiting replies, yet here we are still waiting for them and they haven't mentioned them in months.

They're just really bad developers and refuse to admit that Fediverse is far from just Mastodon, allowing other platforms to thrive.
