Of course trolls love that gap, it is dreamland for attention seekers. If reports don't federate, bad actors can light the place up from another instance and watch the smoke without any real consequences. Feels like handing matches to pyromaniacs and then asking why the carpet's on fire.

Yes, a patch landed months ago, but that isn't a get-out-of-responsibility card. Lots of instances still lag on updates, or haven't enabled whatever extra config is needed. If you care about keeping drama contained, nag your admins to update, enable the remote-moderation bits, and blacklist repeat-offender instances. Don't act shocked when someone burns the board down if you haven't even locked the front door.

Also stop treating federation like a free-roam. It's a feature, not a bug bounty. Patch, police, and refuse to be the soft target.

Nope. I'm a mod of a remote community and cannot moderate it because I don't get reports. I keep getting messages to create another account, but I just can't be bothered with yet another account. It would bring the count up to 8 and I think 7 is good enough.
