The majority of icky stuff on here is only here because no one reported it, and then people get angry how mods won't take it down. Mods are people. They have FRIENDS and FAMILY and JOBS and other responsibilities. They cannot and should not be expected to just watch every post ever made 24/7. (1/2)

If you report a post, mods will be overjoyed because YOU ARE HELPING THEM DO THEIR JOB. Please, report as much as possible. Provide detailed descriptions and links to posts if you can. ALWAYS forward reports - you will remain anonymous when forwarding to remote servers. Currently the official Mastodon mobile app does not support report forwarding, but the mobile webapp (PWA) and most 3rd party apps do. And if you are a moderator, please remind your users of the above regularly. (2/2)
