myself, I think if someone doesn't know about the whole #/nobot thing, then they could find it annoying.
Also that the fediverse is a public platform that developers should be welcome to make things with.

I think sudaksis could have said things a bit nicer. maybe something like "pls don't scrape my posts" would have gone better, but also, haiku was being not good either and should have just not been on fedi and done something else. I think how sudaksis said "Does this bot intentionally disregard the filter flags", yea, if someone didn't even know about the nobot thing on mastodon, that might come across as being an ass I guess.

Tbh, drama could have been avoided if ppl just block haiku anyway. then their posts won't get scraped, and they won't have to interact, so no drama on either side.

I always thought it was pointless because I didn't think bots were able to just parse bio info like that, could be wrong though.

But yeah...they could have been quite a bit nicer. That's the issue with most of these interactions, they lead to vitriol and harassment, sometimes on a wide scale.

@BeAware @puppygirlhornypost2 you didn't think ppl could use the mastodon API to parse ppls bio? of course they can. probably also scrape html as well

@BeAware @puppygirlhornypost2 I was also going to mention about making posts private, but even they are public really, cause bots can just follow ur account. Also there's probably ways to make them public anyway

The bot maker probably didn't know and the complainer could have been nicer to not start a needless argument. They come off as entitled as hell.
