It looks like YouTube is currently blocking Mastodon from loading thumbnails and description metadata from video links. It’s not just me right?

@nfd have you tried using the full link instead of the short link?
If that doesn't work, paste the link into https://invidi.link then hit the "Go random!" Button, then share the link it sends you to.
Maybe that will give correct link previews...

@nfd it's less of a link redirect service and more of a "alternate frontend for youtube" that is basically just mirroring the YouTube content to their own sites. That's why I'm not 100% sure if the link previews will work, the sites are run by normal folks with limited funding.
