A while ago I heard it noted that sometimes people on social media purposely post slightly inaccurate content like throwing "June 21, 1970" over some moon landing footage in order to drive engagement via people correcting you.
That always sat in the back of my mind, but I I hadn't really noticed it at the time.
But lately I've been seeing a lot of it.
So consider that next time you see something that seems obviously wrong.
People are garbage.

@fortyseven thank all that is good that there's no incentive, yet, to do this kind of mental gymnastics bullshit on Fedi.
I'm sure people still do it, but that's probably more of an "I want attention" mental issue than a financial one like most other platforms.
