As someone who's told they have pretty intense ADHD, I consider myself lucky to have weird form of narcolepsy. It only really kicks in when I get too comfortable, like lying in bed (don't worry, I don't drive or operate machinery).

This means that when my head hits the pillow at night, I"m out pretty quickly. I can wake up a lot throughout the night, but that's okay.
I see so many folk with ADHD struggle with sleep, their minds racing all night and I don't know how I'd cope with that!

@stn I am one of those with the racing thoughts, it is very difficult to cope sometimes. That's a lot of the reason that I'm here so much and have so many posts.

@BeAware You have my sympathy. Iโm bad enough as it is during the day never mind at night!
Pretty much have something playing in my ear constantly to try and dull out the brain activity, haha. I envy the folk that say a really low dosage of whatever med theyโre on makes everything better.

@stn I'm still trying to find the middle ground for my meds but they work for a few days and then I'm pretty much forced to take a break for a day or two, or I get anxiety.โ๏ธ
It's a fight, but I get through it.

@BeAware You've got this!
I actually ended up being diagnosed autistic recently as well in my mid/late 30s. ADHD hid a lot of it (though was always there looking back), but when I was diagnosed in my late 20s and medicated, the autistic side started to show more.
So yeah, I'm more anxious, less outgoing, struggle with sudden change/break in routine and all that. Good times!
I liken it to this GIF.
Dark blue bucket = ADHD
Cop = ADHD meds
Blue bucket = Autism
