Does Mastodon tell new users to say "Hello Mastodon" or to post a link to their profile and say "I have joined Mastodon, follow me on my profile @....."?

Does Mastodon tell new users to say "Hello Mastodon" or to post a link to their profile and say "I have joined Mastodon, follow me on my profile @....."?
There's quite a lot of that and it's kinda strange to me that all new users do either one of these 2 things that aren't going to help them in any way...🤨
The first says nothing about the person or anything really and the second is literally pointless. You don't need to link to your own profile...why would that need to be a thing? Just click the profile like every other social media platform...

@panda most of them reply to me when I welcome them, so I dont think it's that.
That's why I assumed it was a "new users should do this" recommendation from mastodon itself, but I can never be sure cause I have no reason to sign up for another account, nor do I want a reason.
