Hey I just have a simple question to the people of #Mastodon. What is difference between Bookmarks and Favorites tab ? Aren't they exactly same ? And how do you use them ?

@javalps the difference is that the favorite button notifies the poster that you favorites their post and the bookmark button does not.

@BeAware The Boosts button, it's also doing the same thing, right ? Btw ... How do you use it ?

@javalps the boost button is similar to the "retweet" option on Twitter which pushes the post onto your page to your followers so they can see it as well. Favorites and bookmarks do not do that.
I use the favorite button to basically say "I see you" or "this was not ignored". I basically do not use the bookmark button.
The boost button I use for things that I think other people should see, even my own replies cause replies aren't shown to your followers unless they also follow the person you're replying to. So if I think my reply to someone is useful information for others, I'll boost it.
I'll probably boost this reply here as well.

@BeAware That's a nice way of doing it.
Previously, I used the Boost button for liking something and the Favorites button for saving posts. Never used the Bookmarks.
I think, I should finally put it in use.

@javalps awesome! Sounds good.
Hope it works for you as well as it works for me.
