The most widely used blocklist is by Oliphant, who has been proven time and time again to add to the blocklist for personal reasons and lie within the list.

Obviously this is harmful to those who do nothing wrong and end up on the list because of a personal beef.

@BeAware Just got a report from @mastodon.online@mastodon.online against @pixelworld_ai simply reporting J's entire recent messages. It's:
1) Weird
2) Baseless
3) Hiding behind a bot
4) Suspendable on my server, so I suspended Mastodon.online's shit bot.

@shanie @pixelworld_ai it's probably not a specific bot, just that a mastodon.online user reported them for some dumb reason and mastodon doesn't show the reporters username for privacy, so every report would show like that.

People are fucking weird.

@BeAware Yeah I just realized that's what's going on, but that 'privacy' just makes it Oh! Exploitable! (And honestly if that's how it's going to be, that bot is best banned because I don't want to deal with Mr. Big Server's reports).

Many such cases. A lot of """privacy""" features of various fedi software are dubious.

@BeAware I would go so far as to say you don't need blocklists. Just block what you see and get reported and if you need references just have a look at https://gui.fediseer.com/, there you will find reputations.

Some end up on lists over arguments or minor one off issue.
