Oh. I've never actually seen that movie.

I've heard the cry of "Wilson!" referenced many times.

I did not know Wilson was a ball.

He's not, he's the fricking pilot on the plane!

A lot of people forget this because he's largely a silent character in the film, but he's the whole reason the plane goes down in the first place. They spend the first half of the film surviving together with Hanks' character throwing constant snide remarks, and then the pivotal scene where Wilson builds a boat and sails away from the abuse with Hanks calling out after him.

Internet chuds decided his character could be replaced by a ball, and here we are.

Go watch the film, I forget the actor's name, but I think he won an oscar
