Uhm wtf is the fediverse???So basically, it's like email but for social media. You are on threads but people on Mastodon, Pixelfed, Misskey, etc can interact with your posts.
Just like with email you can be on Gmail and communicate with those on Yahoo, Outlook, etc.
Threads integration is pretty janky right now but HOPEFULLY it'll be fully interoperable one day.
