I don't have high hopes that AP won't be taken over by Meta completely at some point now. They literally have financial control.
It sucks cause I really liked this place, but Fedi isn't as exciting anymore because of that. It's no longer an exciting wait and see and more of a doom and gloom wait and see.

The Melon Men discord group now has over 150 members and we have our own custom invite link!
That's pretty neat, never been a part of a discord like that, much less been in the leadership.
There's a Halloween event near spawn tomorrow, but to be honest I feel that's a massacre waiting to happen.
Assholes will just fly in and start killing people. I hope not, but I might avoid it just in case. I'm not scared of dying, I just don't want an asshole to get the satisfaction of killing me.

New research paper on the experiences of serving as Mastodon admins to be presented at ACM SIGCHI conference next month, based on 16 admin interviews (including me) #MastoAdmin@profcarroll Sorry, I didn't think someone doing research would be so sensitive to criticism about their research techniques.
I'll keep that in mind for the next time I see someone making a research paper based on less than 1% of the real analytics.

that's quite a low number considering there's thousands of Mastodon admins. -
Ugh. Just found out that one of our bases on 2b2t has open portals nearby...not good.Ugh. Just found out that one of our bases on 2b2t has open portals nearby...not good.
2b2t has MANY base hunters with tools that allow them to see where loaded chunks were made and portals that were placed. If there's open portals, our base could very easily be compromised.
We might have to move.

I noticed my recent posts say "1 boost" but when I look to see who boosted them, it says there's no boosts.@lalah @chikorita157 if you block relay accounts, you're cutting yourself off from a big part of the Fediverse...
I literally wouldn't be able to see half of Fedi posts if I didn't use a ton of relays. I'm on my own instance and since Fediverse works by follow relationships, I can't possibly follow every single person on Fedi.
