So, if you've followed me for awhile, you might know that for 6 months or so, I was playing on 2b2t, Minecraft's oldest anarchy server.

Well, a little over a month ago, that came tumbling down because I was accused of some dumb shit by people who just wanted to stir up drama. I explained all the accusations and showed how they were faked and then was subsequently kicked from my group.

I took it particularly hard because the leader seemed to be the NICEST dude I'd ever met and I thought I could trust him to have my back. Well...I guess I was wrong.

So for the past few weeks, i've been pretty depressed because for my entire life, I've had troubles finding people that would have my back when things got sticky. Everyone always blames me or throws me under the bus.

Well, tonight I got a message from someone in the group saying they'd have me back and I'm conflicted because I did enjoy playing with them, but if things get sticky again, will I get thrown under the bus again?

Ugh. My life might not be as hard as some, but my social life is the WORST and that even extends into online.

@morph @m I didn't have csam stuff, but in my first week on Fedi, I got brigaded by a freeze peach instance, all calling me a f**got.

Never blocked an instance so fast ever since.

@samuel nah, it's all there. I'm literally just neglecting the blog.

The friends plugin just basically turns it into a Fediverse instance, allowing me to follow Fedi accounts directly from the blog.

@samuel well, as an admin of my own instance, if I ever get a fine from Australia, they will get the most heartfelt letter telling them to kindly fuck off.

Obviously I don't know what a big instance would do. But I'd hope they'd respond the same way.

If we let governments push us around, we're no better than X.

@samuel it doesn't work for Fediverse. There's 30,000+ servers. Good luck to them.

However, if they start harassing Fediverse admins for this, most will just move their server outside of the US and a LOT have already started doing so preemptively.‍️

@m when I was paranoid about it somehow getting to my instance before I realized exactly how Fedi works, I preemptively blocked all the known instances for that kind of stuff.

However, it's been almost 6 months since I've really kept up with blocklists.

I sometimes watch the federated feed for hours and don't see anything worth blocking.

I recently saw a 2023 article that said they "found" over 4000 instances posting pedophilia content and all I could think of was "so, you're telling me you LOOKED for pedophilia content?!?"

@Fu that's something I've never heard or thought about.

I've seen those criticisms of Fedi that there's "SO many pedophiles here" which that's absolutely true if you're on an instance that doesn't ban those individuals and you follow them to see those types of content.

Therefore, I have to wonder, are those people on those instances and are they following the people that post that kinds of content?🤨

That would imply that people should be kind when others reply to them on social media.

However, a LOT of people are just rude as hell and tell you to fuck off if you're just trying to start a non-hostile conversation.‍️

@kendricklmao8 I've only ever watched 1 UK show. Doctor who and I've thoroughly enjoyed it though I haven't watched any recent seasons.

Last I watched was Peter Capaldi.

@laxla haha. I have an iPhone and it has a feature for photos in the storage to select and copy the text directly off the picture. Therefore I downloaded the photo and copied the text and pasted it after I wrote the beginning by hand.‍️

I have noticed in the past that there's some Fedi platforms that allow adding hashtags that don't show on mastodon for some reason.

It's not often, but it does happen to me sometimes.

Maybe that's the case here.
