@LianaBrooks #mosstodon alone makes this the best socmed on the internet. I do not post anywhere else online anymore (except maybe LinkedIn, but that's because I have a vain hope to become hired in software at some point).

@LianaBrooks I am and I wouldn't say it is working for me yet. Working well enough to have some fun and learn things while I use it. But I miss 99% of my actual social networks, so for the time being I am mostly here to do something of value that will help the fediverse become attractive.

@LianaBrooks it's the best for added value. But don't you find it ironic that most people on the planet carry a phone 24/7 yet use social networks to interact with friends and family? Email would better serve that purpose if phone calls aren't your thing. Part of the value of Mastodon is the intellectual diversity. I'd like to see more ethnic and cultural of that. Friends and family via public networks? Why?

@LianaBrooks although I also use Pixelfed and Lemmy. and especially in case of Pixelfed, sometimes I use it more than Mastodon (depending on whether I crave text content or image content.)

And this is really an amazing place to be. Lots of great people and lots of great tools to filter out the a-holes. I wish I had these Fediverse tools in real life.

Plus no ads is great and I love knowing that I’m not supporting some billionaire a-holes.

I have been using it (Mastodon) for several years now.

@LianaBrooks yes, and “yes and no”, in that I cannot get any family or locals on it, so lacking that aspect that used to be Facebook’s only redeeming feature.
