@LianaBrooks Yes. Also use some other fedi systems (pixelfed, lemmy, bookwyrm) and also I keep linkedin because I love the cringe but I rarely use it at all. I invested some time and love to my mastodon feed and I've gotten it back ten times.

Well, I started my Fediverse-journey in 2018 on Mastodon, but have since migrated to Firefish, Iceshrimp, now Akkoma and Sharkey, and pixelfed as well.
However, yes, I use the Fediverse exclusively since the end of '22. -

The fediverse is the best open social network I've ever been. (I'm certainly not only connected to people with mastodon, it is one of the great features that we have different services interconnected).
It is not perfect, but rather good.

Well, depending on what you qualify as SoMe.
Does Signal count? Otherwise, most people in my age group are of course on Instagram and Snapchat (which violates their TOS btw). But, as I am a rule-adhering person, I never created an account there, and now have found my leftist echo chamber here. My friends all have Signal, and so we send each other posts there (and also do so less frequently).

@LianaBrooks yes its working. imported users from twitter and added some random ones based on topic search. now more followers and no advertizement crap. Twitter I abandoned completely the day Elon killed the API so well working clients (which existed way before twitters own rubbish client) got locked out. I enjoy the genuity of Mastodon users. Way more quality

@LianaBrooks I am using only Mastodon and Wordpress with #ActivityPub. Works perfectly for me except for monitoring trends. I rely on lists for organizing information. What I have lost in quantity since leaving LinkedIn, X and the Meta platforms completely I have won in quality. Strangely LinkedIn seems to have become so autoreferential that I don't even remark missing it.
