Realizing I should add more

means they left without saying they were leaving or when they'd be back. Term is namely used in the military iircIt’s “absent without official leave”, meaning they don’t have permission from the chain of command to be absent from their post (which is literally just wherever they are supposed to be).
It’s not a matter of saying you’ll be gone and when you’ll be back, it’s a matter of having official permission to be away from your duties (aka leave). They won’t get you for it for being off-base in your free time, but if you are off-base on THEIR time, then you are AWOL. You can also be AWOL without actually going anywhere, like if you are sick and stay in bed without contacting your superior, or medical for a chit, very likely considered AWOL .

All my nudes gone.
Ohhh, that's what's different browsing All, I knew something was up. Rip.

Damn, is there anyone who could get it back online?
From what I know, no unfortunately.

All my nudes gone.
Good, no need to call the volcel police on you people

What happend? I can still see some posts on them?
So, what happens when a lemmy server goes down ungracefully (so unlike lemm.ee that made a proper shutdown and closed most communities), the communities stay as a localized version on each server it had connected to, at least last I checked. You can post and will see posts from users on lemmy.world but no one on any other server can see your posts, because the community server was supposed to distribute them. So it becomes more like an archive.

Dicks out, boys.
The only one I pull my dick out for is harambe.

feddit.de all over

Nooooo, don't say its name!
-
Admin that had access to the server went AWOL in October and now the server has died.
If I had a nickel for every Lemmy admin of a big instance who went missing I would have two nickels.

Well what am I supposed to do with my erection now?
stick it to the man? 🤭

Just realized she's saying do not come

I mean, this beautifully shows that this comic explicitly doesn't apply to the fediverse. Since everything else continues to work. The fediverse as a whole remains unaffected.

All my nudes gone.
there should be something in the lemmy admin interface that reminds ppl to have a co-admin or give someone who they know admin accounts, to keep their legacy alive when they go missing

It's also hosted behind cloud flare who will present cached pages if the source host is offline. So web visits still might show stuff until the cache expires.

My problem is I had a list of lemmit.online communities I had subbed to, which should still exist but you can’t sign up for them directly so you could never browse the full list. Now I’ll have to find all of those again.
