@LianaBrooks Yes and yes.
I love knowing our admin and knowing any donation I make goes directly into supporting our instance.
And this is really an amazing place to be. Lots of great people and lots of great tools to filter out the a-holes. I wish I had these Fediverse tools in real life.
Plus no ads is great and I love knowing that I’m not supporting some billionaire a-holes.

@LianaBrooks yes, and “yes and no”, in that I cannot get any family or locals on it, so lacking that aspect that used to be Facebook’s only redeeming feature.

@LianaBrooks mastadon & technically linked in (only as job add site). Never learned to use any of the social apps for social suff, hence using it as my news source in the morning, and for an occasional scream into the abyss therapy session. I guess it works for that;)

@LianaBrooks yes and yes. The lack of algorithm is bliss. My adhd was very prone to addiction with the other socials. The lack of fascists on here is also bliss!

@LianaBrooks Yes. Since 6 years. Before Mastodon I used google+. I have never been on the big social media platforms. So I don't know what I'm missing out.

Mastodon is my *only* social media platform, and it works perfectly for me.

@LianaBrooks I tried to reopen Reddit after two months without and I’ve been overwhelmed by the flood of suggested communities, commercials and post from subreddits I don’t remember I subscribed.
So yes: mastodon is more than enough for me
