@dansup my thought here is that the country of orgine here doesnt matter. If the better Open-source alternative is american ill use it. As long as the developer isnt some MAGA guy it should be fine

Pixelfed is American, but not from the USA.
And of course, I'm also falling into this trap from time to time...@kleisli i mean the app was made by a canadian and not by all american countries collaboration

are you the only canadian lead developer on the fediverse? if it's going to be about Canada, you should try and find out if there are other federated services with a large degree of canadian development
