Does anyone here know of a running Bonfire instance that has federation actually activated?

I want to try different platforms see if any other Activity Pub implementation makes better use of the actual protocol.

Already tried Sharkey, Pixelfed, Hubzilla, Friendica, GoToSocial and Akkoma.

Should you find one, I'm curious if it requires use of its own web site or if it supports Mastodon API clients like GoToSocial.

@osma so far no success to be honest. I'm starting to wonder if it's just a bunch of smoke and mirrors.

In this time an age websites overpromising and under delivering are the norm, not the exception

@maikel@vmst.io well, over promising builds hype and it is easier to sell promise than a product.

I only ever post when I have something concrete to show. It means I have less engagement, but it also means I never over promise.

It does not mean I am right. I think the right balance lies somewhere in between.

@julian this is the second time you respond to me about a post with activity pub in it as if I were talking about you and take it personal when I haven't even got a clue what do you do.

          Blocked.

Lol can someone tell @maikel@vmst.io to stop taking it personally when I was talking about @mayel@sunbeam.city and @dansup@mastodon.social

The thin skin of people these days.

TBF it was not clear to me either why you chose to reply the way you did, @julian. I think we can do with a little less negativity about other people's efforts, even if they're not what you'd personally choose to do.

@osma@mas.to No negativity at all. In my post I pointed out that while I don't agree with their approaches I don't think mine is right either.

In fact, it was Maikel who called other projects "smoke and mirrors".

@julian @mayel please dont use me as an example, the hype I built is very real and Loops and Pixelfed are thriving and open source.
