shocking number of people seem to think of this space in terms of "winning". it is not, has never been, and should never be about "winning". have some goddamn humility and build better communication tools and systems. the only real mark of success is in the connections you make possible between people and in how these connections enrich their lives. if you just build "<centralized app> but federated" then you haven't "won" anything, you've just prolonged the failure state.
