@julian my platonic ideal is that i can publish arbitrary data to the web

and also separately have a sort of "inbox zone" that lets me read all my messages and notifications without having to care about which protocol i'm doing it on. like a "social reader"

and also separately have an identity provider that lets me log into services like forums or whatever around the web
