i have had the worst 5 minutes ever with Anytype just now. never before have i found a product that seems like it could be really cool but then i immediately discover it's very aggressively not for me

content blocks are just awful for me, especially when every time i hit enter it makes a new one
also i'm still not entirely sure why it's encrypted or why i would want that. i assume it's got something to do with their share function but i don't want to share anything and i should be able to create an off-grid vault that isn't encrypted

so far in my explorations i think i basically want something like obsidian but with support for more than just markdown bc i actually hate markdown after trying to do anything remotely advanced with it (apparently definition lists are too advanced!)

once again i keep thinking that if the end goal is html in most cases then i should just be writing or storing content as html instead of markdown
either that, or markdown (commonmark) needs to significantly evolve and a lot of extended syntax should become default features
