random thought but it’s a bit funny that some people simultaneously have an aversion to “playing god” while also having children. the story of god creating adam reads as an allegory for parenthood. is giving birth not in itself an act of creation? you have brought life into this world that did not ask for it. the child disobeys its creator because it has free will. i think there’s some interesting literary implications there, but they were probably better explored by mary shelley’s frankenstein.
