The #federation plot thickens: I just posted this video to my #peertube, which I follow with my #Mastodon account - and as I would expect it shows up in my Masto feed, so so far, so good... but if I then click on my PT account within Mastodon it doesn't show me all the videos I've posted on PT like, it skips the one I posted last week, for example.
Is there some setting I'm missing over on PT, or what's going on here...?

@jwcph when did you follow your PT account? Cause it will only send posts/videos if you were following at the time, it won't send older videos.

@BeAware No, it won't *send* the older ones - but I can see them visiting the account page. Just not all of them, for reasons I can't figure out.

@lps @BeAware Yes, that's my account over on Makertube - but if I view that same account through #Mastodon (by clicking the account name on the post as it appears in my feed), it shows a weird selection of videos there's the most recent one, then it skips to "Derailleur", then all the way back to "Power Blocker", making it look like I'm posting months apart instead of weeks. Seems misleading to a user trying to find out if I'm worth following...

@jwcph @lps yes, that's because there was probably times over those months that there wasn't an active follower from the mastodon instance OR the admin has content cache clearing settings. Fediverse only sends posts that are requested by followers instances and then the admin can clear out older posts to save space.
