@m when I was paranoid about it somehow getting to my instance before I realized exactly how Fedi works, I preemptively blocked all the known instances for that kind of stuff.

However, it's been almost 6 months since I've really kept up with blocklists.

I sometimes watch the federated feed for hours and don't see anything worth blocking.

I recently saw a 2023 article that said they "found" over 4000 instances posting pedophilia content and all I could think of was "so, you're telling me you LOOKED for pedophilia content?!?"

@BeAware @m I never came aware of such content. The only incidents were crypto coin trading people that tried to get into a conversation (but maybe just 3 to 5 max). IIRC they all came from common public instances and therefore were surely reported and silenced soon.

@morph @m I didn't have csam stuff, but in my first week on Fedi, I got brigaded by a freeze peach instance, all calling me a f**got.

Never blocked an instance so fast ever since.
