I meant to make this image at 1000 followers, but I have a side project that's been keeping me busy. More about that soon, but right now: Thanks!

I have been keeping a list of the different languages I see on Pixelfed, and here is the word Thanks in all of them, with a matching flag or two. I used Bing Translate mostly for the text, and for the image all I did was paste together screenshots of text and emoji in #inkscape. They're in no order really, and it turns out there's not always a one to one #language to #flag relationship, but I did my best.

It really means a lot to me to be able to share my photos outside of the legacy social media that's still controlled by billionaires, but I had no idea when I joined that this was such a talented community! You all have wonderful ideas about what photography and art can be. I am amazed over and over when I scroll through the local timeline.

My own aesthetic is about fidelity, even superfidelity in that I sometimes spot things in photos I didn't see in person; and also lots of context, in that I like to know and talk about where the image was taken, the how and the why, what's the name of that flower? But other artists here are doing stuff like collage, stripping the image of context; and expired and even pre-exposed film photography that aren't about fidelity at all. I've seen potters and weavers here, sculptors and painters, flower arranging and pure abstracts, I love it all, thank you!

Thank you for being here with me! I'm looking forward to seeing what we all make, and to what #Pixelfed and #ActivityPub will become.

    THANK YOU!!!!
