@samuel it doesn't work for Fediverse. There's 30,000+ servers. Good luck to them.
However, if they start harassing Fediverse admins for this, most will just move their server outside of the US and a LOT have already started doing so preemptively.

@BeAware it doesn't seem to be about which country a server is in. With the Australian law, for example, they can fine you in your country (you as the owner/admin I guess) for not having those measures in place for users of that country (Australia).

@samuel well, as an admin of my own instance, if I ever get a fine from Australia, they will get the most heartfelt letter telling them to kindly fuck off.
Obviously I don't know what a big instance would do. But I'd hope they'd respond the same way.
If we let governments push us around, we're no better than X.
