Apparently, Switch 2 game cartridges contain *no* game data upon purchase—yet can cost up to $90.

So looks like I won't buy a Switch 2.
And that's all right with me because I own hundreds of DRM-free games from GOG.

@atomicpoet That’s only true for the games marked with the “Game-Key card” disclaimer in their packaging: https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/68415/session/L3RpbWUvMTc0MzY2MTA0MS9nZW4vMTc0MzY2MTA0MS9zaWQvZlVnR2dBR2JkWkFmVUtrRkZjOEl1MVJkQ2VhRlVCQzdnUmE4elZNUndYaDhSZmJsNXBoWiU3RU9kbFhGU0J4U3h4QktWRkF2eW9HeFhlbGNkU0JRdmozMVBEcmZWNSU3RXk2eGlIeFJubV9ncDdzOTlKY2xiTmhDUTBaUSUyMSUyMQ%3D%3D
And per the support page, they may still contain _some_ game data, just not all of it.
Games without that disclaimer (or “regular game cards” as the page calls them) _will_ contain all of the game data.
Do note that “Game-Key cards” technically already existed for the Switch 1, but were not labeled as such.
