@BeAware @snow I think the nature of software allows grace. Things are super hard to develop and hiccups happen all of the time. Sure Meta has the resources but with running FB, Instagram and Meta AI I doubt they’ve offered as much resources to Threads.

@BeAware It's kind of a shame. For the TWO people on Threads I follow that enabled federation, it's *great* & totally seamless for me over on the Fediverse.

But, Threads missed their window, and in the last month, all of the normies & corpos finally settled *hard* on BlueSky as their Twitter replacement.

The opt in nature of the BSky bridge sucks butts.

@damon @snow unfortunately their track record and yes, insane amount of funding, doesn't give them the grace that others would have.

If a small team with very little funding can do it for a platform they don't even work for, there's absolutely no reason Meta couldn't do it for Threads in 4x as much time. BridgyFed has been live for about 9 months and wasn't made by people that work at Bluesky.‍️

"By the end of the year" was an ample amount of time and they don't have much reason to miss that deadline beyond their lack of care about Fedi.

@BeAware @snow Bridgy fed has existed for years though I think it’s almost as old as Facebook . So Bridgy classic is almost as old as Facebook and Bridgy fed is almost 8 years old
