A long time ago I ordered a product on a "kickstarter-like" setup. As is the case with many such things, there were numerous delays. Now more than a year later it is ready to be delivered. I got a link from DHL, which was shortly followed up with an offer to deliver to service point or automatic pickup location, instead.

Now, I have had some very poor experiences with DHL in Norway. Especially during peak Covid lockdown, when they liked to claim I was not at home even though everybody was always at home. So while they *should* deliver right to my door, it was tempting to just use a "nearby" pickup point.

@ruari Seems like DHL is terrible pretty much everywhere. Here in Switzerland, I’ve had a bad experience with them every time.

Last June, I had some legal documents that I had to deal with. To process them, it was _required_ for them to be handled by DHL (honestly no idea why). When it was time for them to deliver them back to me, I was there, I heard them ring the doorbell.

I live in a three floored building and live in the top floor. It takes 2-3 minutes to go down. By the time I arrived, they were gone. Exactly 3 minutes later, I received an email from them that “I wasn’t at home” 😑

@ruari To add insult to injury, their second attempt to deliver this was even worse. I rescheduled for them to try to deliver again the next day.

The delivery window was supposed to be between 8:00-13:00; it arrive at 15:30 instead.
