No seriously, where the heck is the option

@xumbra Under "Privacy and reach" (2nd tab at the top), you can find an option for "Automatically accept new followers"

for some reason I was expecting the option to be phrased like "Require follow requests"

@xumbra hm, most likely the "reason" you would expect it to be "require follow requests" rather than "accept new follow requests automatically" is that other networks (twitter et al) tend to invert it in this way, where the "natural state" is to have follows not require approval. but for the fediverse, the "natural state" is to require approvals; it's just that mastodon can automatically approve requests on your behalf.

it's also possible that "reach" is the wrong way to categorize this?
