my motivation is in life, or anything really, is that i want things to make sense. i want the way we model our systems and the world to be at least internally consistent with itself and ideally externally consistent with some “reality” (take your pick). i think we should continually strive toward better accuracy and general correctness instead of preserving flawed models or incorrect assumptions past the point that they cease being useful, even if it means rethinking core assumptions.
