It also federates my recent post (the only one I made after the update it seems).

@catfeeder maybe it was an instance limitation. You should have always been able to follow Lemmy users...🤨
-
catfeeder@void.lgbtreplied to beaware@social.beaware.live last edited by@BeAware I'm pretty sure Lemmy posts weren't federating to Mastoverse.

@catfeeder I've been here for a year and they've always worked fine for me.️
I'm on my own instance though.
-
catfeeder@void.lgbtreplied to beaware@social.beaware.live last edited by@BeAware huh okay, I always heard that Lemmy and Mastodon are federating poorly so I assumed following Lemmy users weren't a thing.

@catfeeder it doesn't "look" the best because mastodon doesn't allow "article" type content which is what Lemmy uses. Therefore Lemmy "posts" show up as just a link in the post, but replies/comments should show up as regular replies on Mastodon.
Also to make a post on Lemmy from mastodon, you have to format it in a very specific way.
The first line of the post is the title like this.
Then the body of the post would go here.
Mention the community like @ Fediverse@lemmy.world (I spaced it so this post doesn't go there)

catfeeder@void.lgbtreplied to beaware@social.beaware.live last edited by@BeAware thanks for the information! I tried searching for some lemmy users and some just don't appear here (maybe instances don't federate with each other idk).
I also tried a few times posting on Lemmy with your described method but it didn't for some reason. It's really confusing! -

@catfeeder yeah...unfortunately theres a lot of instance blocking bullshit that gets in the way of things sometimes.
-
catfeeder@void.lgbtreplied to beaware@social.beaware.live last edited by@BeAware the latest Lemmy version also automatically adds hashtags to posts so that they get some visibility on Mastoverse so may it be a reason?

@catfeeder maybe so.️
I just know it's always worked for me as far back as I can remember because I joined Mastodon because of Lemmy so I've always been connected to that space.
