There it is folks. So this isn't exactly a "representative sample of the US", it's a "representative sample of people who follow me on the fediverse and some of their followers" basically.

Nonetheless, it's extra interesting if combined with my other (much less serious, but also interesting) poll which shows that the majority of people responding to my polls identify as some level of "gay" https://social.coop/@cwebber/114999265980448632

So, "largely queer fedi" result skew here

Now given that, what we can see is that of those responding, *only 34%* indicate that they are intending to stay in the US, approx 1/3. Basically 2/3 of people either wish to leave, are preparing to leave, or have left.

The biggest demographic, nearly but not quite half, is people wishing they could leave but don't know a path.

But nearly 20% have either left or are preparing to. 10% have left!

What I read from this is that "queer fedi" is, by and large, extremely concerned about the US to the degree of most people either trying to leave or wanting to. A lot of people don't know how to, though.

I don't think there would be any other time in my present lifetime where we'd see this degree of people wanting to having left.

This also says to me that there are a lot of queer people who wish to leave but don't see a path. My primary recommendation is to look at https://transworldexpress.org/wiki/Main_Page

If you have any ancestors who were born in Canada, look at the 5(4) process. We're in a short time period loophole where the number of generations back is unconstrained if you can demonstrate ancestry.

If you aren't ready to leave but think you might, lining up options now may be a good idea.
