i think fedi scrapers if its public posts are fine. I get the concern over AI that some ppl might have tho, but it does seem kinda inevitable. there are AI ppl on fedi, so it's kinda unavoidable tbh

as:Public is why Mastodon by default disables all public access to public timelines, and even that took them a few steps. Like, when they first tried cutting it off, they didn't apply it to websockets, so the as:Public Collector was entirely unaffected, for instances which supported websockets.

Now that anonymous access is disabled by default, I maintain accounts across the top instances, and the ones that block the most other instances, in order to get reasonably-complete coverage.
