why is it that whenever i see someone do a fuckin video essay, they always start by going back to dictionary definitions of words and then work their argument up from there. it's SO pervasive. is it something they teach you at school? maybe american school? i didnt go to american school so i don't write like that. but everybody on youtube who makes a video longer than 20 minutes wants to start with fuckin Webster's. don't they realize it's a cliche beyond parody. what's going on

@jk it is generally good to make sure you share the same definitions as your audience before using terms extensively

your argument shouldn't be based on the definitions, but the definitions enable you to make further statements
