@scott Sure, it’s better than Mastodon — low bar! — but I really think the ideal should move more towards separate identity providers that at most provide links to current services, without providing those actual services. Like a fancier DNS server. Actually, you could probably do it with DNS TXT records in some capacity. Or take a page out of ATProto’s book and have a central directory like did:plc.
