I may not defederate from Threads yet.
However, in this whole Fediverse takeover debacle, if I notice anyone leaving Fedi to go there, those will be the first people I toss aside and forget about.
Leaving an open platform to go to an abusive one is a major red flag that we don't mesh well.
To each their own, but I'm here to communicate with people. If you go there, it's clear to me that you're not doing it for communication purposes.

@BeAware It's probably not even an accessible platform because its made by Meta, so I won't even bother.

@gocu54 probably not. Though I can't say because after I joined there earlier this year, I had multiple bad interactions with their engineers directly and deleted my account.
Fuck threads and meta. They keep taking shit over and people just keep letting them.
Fedi is just the latest in it's long history of taking things over just to kill it.
When Fedi dies, my social life goes with it and that's a bit sad. However, I refuse to have a corporate overlord. SWF seems keen on expanding at any cost, even if that means Fedi dies and gets taken over by Meta.

@BeAware Right now, I love Mastodon and hope it stays for decades.

@gocu54 Mastodon might be around, but it'll be a Meta subsidiary soon enough unfortunately. Even if they don't acknowledge it as such, having money invested means they'll be able to change what they want. It's basically political lobbying except on a capitalism scale.
