IETF specs tend to be less over engineered, not always for the better. They can sometimes be vague
ETSI is a complexity rabbit hole.
W3C are all over the place and so many of their specs are gigantic monsters these days.
OASIS is... I hope you like Enterprise XML.
ISO is ok but they're behind a paywall. -

I still have flashbacks to their STIX v1 format which was massive chunks of XML and the biggest intelligence agencies on the planet LOVED to share XML which contradicted the spec and/or stretched it to it's absolute limits
I think v2 is json but

@erincandescent @FloatingGhost i don't have experience with those but i did read up on xri and lrdd/xrd
