@trwnh annoyingly the technology required to scrape fedi is technically, also the technology required to just federate in general, your fedi server “scrapes” posts all the time, the difference is entirely in how they get used, it isn’t really a technical problem, but rather a people/social boundaries one,

@mrrp @kett they are public posts (not unlisted) and they are being rendered directly from the m.s public timeline and they weren’t even being scraped/indexed/persisted in any way. they were just being shown in a alternative frontend.
