When it comes to alternatives. For me NodeBB is easier to setup than other projects based on different technologies.
I agree with this
I chose NodeBB because I was impressed by how easy it is to set up, and the features it offers already meet my needs for a BBS.
Plus, it stands out from the typical PHP websites, and that uniqueness can really spark people's desire to explore

Pessimistically speaking, in today's internet environment, web1.5-era BBS platforms that still operate on a centralized distribution model have indeed fallen by the wayside. A site that can still spark people's curiosity and desire to explore is therefore all the more precious.

As you see I'm trying to support project. Translating new lang strings and looking for bugs and other issues.
You can probably help with documentation for Chinese users.

There's an author of Chinese documentation for NodeBB on GitHub,
you can find it here: NodeBB-China/NodeBB-ChinaHowever, I'm not sure why it hasn't been updated in a long time.
My coding skills are pretty basic,so I probably wouldn't be up to the task of maintaining it
Most of the time, I rely on AI Q&A to help me with website development

All I can do is engage with everyone when I'm not work,
and provide suggestions on areas where I think the Chinese translations for NodeBB need improvement.
Or, I can submit pull requests on GitHub when I have something to contribute.

This book tells the story of three generations, and for those of us born in the new era, it was indeed a time of great change and upheaval.
